I did it!

Just like a kid riding their first two-wheeler, I want to shout it to the world, "I did it!"  I learned to spin on a wheel.  It turns out that the reason the yarn wouldn't take up on the bobbin was because it was wrapped around the guide on the woolee winder.  Doh!  But you know, learning something like that the hard way means that next time I have a problem with take up, I'll double check that the yarn is flowing freely.

I was so happy, I got Jim to shoot a movie.

  7. Wooo-hooooo!!! Look at you go!!! The only thing I ever tried that was a bigger disaster than spinning with a drop spindle was trying to spin with a wheel. I am SERIOUSLY impressed!

  12. Congrats on learning to use a wheel! I'm looking for the same wheel, but with the orifice on the right.

either a sheep or a big angora bunny wabbit. Shhhhhh I'm hunting the wooly wabbit. Instead of wiley wabbit. lol you look so awesome at that wheel. I stare darts of envy at you. It is something I will never do, I am trying to regain my confidence after 10 yrs of absolutely no knitting.. it's a slow progress but I love reading your blog and seeing the stuff you can do.
and yeah. I know I am posting to old posts but I am reading them as if they were posted today, no perspective here just enjoyment.
