Sending out an S.O.S

Isn't it a bummer when you run out of yarn so close to the end of a project?  And this was supposed to be a stash-buster Xmas gift.  There's no way I want to buy a whole 'nother skein of this yarn at $12 a ball.

Does anyone have a few yards of Rowan Kid Classic in Burgundy kicking around in the stash?  If not, I can go to my LYS and buy some more, but then I'd have to bust that out of my stash.  I'd much prefer to reduce someone else's stash. So please, search your stash, or ask a friend.  You'll have my gratitude and what every compensation you deem reasonable.

  1. I see that these 2 knitters didn't use up their yarn. Maybe you can ask them:

  2. Thanks Katie! I did try one person on Ravelry already, but she was saving her yarn for a hat. It seemed to me that going to each person one-by-one could take a while, so in the mean while, I thought I'd try a broader appeal. Besides the blog, I also posted a request on a couple of need/want/swap/sell forums on Ravelry. Wish me luck!

  3. Good luck!! Hope you find the yarn.

If that falls through, knit from the other mitt until they're equal length. Pick a contrasting color and finish them both off.

  4. Ohhh - so close. I shortened my pre thumb gusset length to 4" which is why I got away with so little yarn (maybe I should have mentioned that - I totally forgot when I wrote my modifications!)I sure hope you find the yarn Laurie.
