The clogs came out cute don't you think?
After they were dry I painted them with some rug backing. It seals the fibers and gives me a non-skid sole. I paint on two coats:
Jim, myself, and the kids are heading out to a house party for New Year's Eve, so I hope they are dry by then so I can wear them.
how much is rug backing? and where do you find it?
ReplyDeleteI was iffy on the yarn at first, but it's lovely fulled! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI bought the tub of rug backing you see in the top photograph at Wal-mart for $18 Canadian.
ReplyDeleterug backing huh who would have thunk it!
ReplyDeleteI love those clogs! Rug backing is a swell idea. I wonder if they sell it around here? You did a great job. The soles look great, very professional. Have a great New Years!
ReplyDeleteDid you use the Fiber Trends pattern for those? I've made clogs from that but they don't look as nice as yours do. What pattern did you find? huh, huh, huh?
ReplyDeleteI love them!!
ReplyDelete& the rug backing, pure genius!
Next pair I make, I'll be sure to pick some up!
Well... i hate the yarn clogs... i am a teenager so maybe its just not cute... but i would sugeest never to wear those in public
ReplyDeletei agree with the last comment....ewwww
ReplyDeleteI think they are great, my mother occasionally forgot and went shopping with her slippers on, but she was getting old and it was terribly funny for us. Teenagers have no clue as to what is warm and functional, look at them all huddled in the snow in jean jackets and sneakers! Not like I ever did that.. heheheheh, well maybe I did but I ain't telling!
